Manchester United have explored swap deal involving Jadon Sancho and Mohammed Kudus

Manchester United and West Ham United held talks over a swap deal involving Jadon Sancho and Mohammed Kudus, as such a move looks unlikely in the present market.

According to United in Focus, Manchester United explored the idea of signing Mohammed Kudus and even discussed sending Jadon Sancho in a swap deal for the Ghanaian. The two clubs could not agree with the players being open to a switch

Manchester United have been moving at a rapid pace in the transfer market, as they have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves. There are plenty more signings planned to revamp the squad, while there will be those who are likely to leave.

Manchester United are planning to sell players, with Jadon Sancho now firmly on that list. The winger spent the season on loan at Chelsea, who have decided to walk away from a deal to make his move permanent as per David Ornstein.

Hence, Manchester United have the added task of selling the winger who is on high wages. The Red Devils reportedly held talks with West Ham United to sign Mohammed Kudus and send Sancho the other way in a swap deal. The two players were open to the idea, only for the Hammers board to reject the deal on the basis that the winger would not fit into their system.

Kudus would have been a good enough option for Manchester United’s attack, as West Ham are ready to sell him this summer. There are other clubs interested but none are ready to pay his existing £85 million release clause, which could force the Hammers to reduce his asking price. Saudi clubs were open to paying big, but Kudus is not interested in a move to the Middle East.

Manchester United will not sign Mohammed Kudus

While there’s apparent interest in Kudus, the Red Devils are unlikely to sign the Ghanaian. They are now linked with Bryan Mbeumo, as he would be seen as the player instead of the West Ham star. Hence, a move for Kudus seems unlikely although he is expected to move out of the London Stadium in the summer.

Manchester United will now focus on some outgoings once they can wrap up a deal for Mbeumo, while Bruno Fernandes has decided to reject an offer from Al-Hilal to continue at Old Trafford. As for Sancho, it remains to be seen where he joins, as he does not have a future at Old Trafford.
