Cesc Fabregas agrees to replace Simone Inzaghi at Inter Milan

Former Spain international Francesc “Cesc” Fabregas has agreed to fill the managerial vacancy at Inter Milan, according to a report this Wednesday from Foot Mercato. The Nerazzurri and Simone Inzaghi agreed on Tuesday they would end their collaboration as Inter Milan concluded a trophyless season by a 5-0 demolition against PSG in the Champions League final. Inzaghi is expected to take over the reins at Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal and become one of the best-paid coaches in the world.

Fabregas and Roberto De Zerbi were reportedly the two men in Inter Milan’s shortlist to replace the former Italy international. The Marseille head coach is set to stick around in Ligue 1, given the Serie A runners-up have reached an agreement on personal terms with the former Chelsea and Monaco midfielder. Fabregas took on the Como job two years ago. He achieved promotion in his first campaign and led I Lariani to tenth place this Serie A season. Foot Mercato adds that Inter now need to find an agreement with Como over a compensation fee.
