Arsenal and Chelsea leading race for Benjamin Sesko
Arsenal and Chelsea are headlining the Benjamin Sesko chase, as the RB Leipzig star seems destined to make a big move to the Premier League.
According to Caught Offside, the Benjamin Sesko chase could get interesting in the coming days, as Arsenal and Chelsea are seen as the front runners. The London giants are in pursuit of a new striker, with the Gunners currently leading concrete talks with RB Leipzig to find an agreement for the Slovenian attacker.
Benjamin Sesko has been one of the biggest talking points of the transfer market over the last week or so. The Slovenian is tipped to leave RB Leipzig after another productive season in the Bundesliga, as his club failed to qualify for any of the European competition following a dismal campaign.
Sesko is among a few other stars expected to make moves, with the Premier League increasingly looking like the striker’s next destination. There are some teams linked, with Liverpool among those, although it’s Arsenal and Chelsea who are seen as the front runners.
The Blues recently agreed a deal for Liam Delap, which could potentially slow down their chase for Sesko as they might consider focusing on other positions. While they are still linked with the Slovenian, it remains to be seen whether they are willing to invest €80 million into signing the Leipzig star.
Chelsea are apparently still looking for a new striker, as they are heavily linked with Hugo Ekitike, which does open the possibility of chasing Sesko. While the €80 million-rated attacking sensation fits in perfectly with their requirement, the Blues might be slightly behind Arsenal in the race.
Arsenal leading the Benjamin Sesko chase
Arsenal have ramped up talks for Sesko, as the Slovenian is now seen as their priority striker target in the summer. The Gunners still have the likes of Viktor Gyokeres on their list, although it’s the €80 million-rated attacking sensation who is ahead of the Swede.
Sporting director Andrea Berta recently held talks with Leipzig counterpart Marcel Scrafer to get close to signing the Slovenian. While Chelsea are credited with an interest, it’s the Gunners who are seemingly ahead in the pursuit, as the Slovenian could be headed to the Emirates.
