Liverpool line up summer move for Goncalo Ramos

Liverpool could raid PSG for their secondary striker Goncalo Ramos as the Reds plot a move to bring in a new centre-forward.

According to a report by Anfield Watch, Liverpool are looking closely at the possibility of making a move for Goncalo Ramos in the summer. The Reds are in the market for a new striker and could view the Portuguese forward as a potential option as the prices of other targets could feel expensive.

Liverpool are flying in the transfer market even before it has been opened. The Reds have already confirmed the signing of Jeremie Frimpong as their next right-back, and are moving with vigour to add left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth as talks are underway.

The Premier League champions have also closed in on Florian Wirtz and launched a €130 million bid to find an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen. Beyond that, Arne Slot is potentially looking to add a few more players in the attacking setup, as Darwin Nunez’s future as well as that of Luis Diaz is under considerable doubt.

Nunez is already in talks with Napoli over an exit, while Saudi Arabian sides are also showing interest. The striker position is something that Arne Slot wants to address, as he needs someone reliable to lead the line, while Diogo Jota could be seen as a rotational forward next season.

There are links to Hugo Ekitike, which have seen Eintracht Frankfurt slap a €100 million price tag on the Frenchman. The price might be a source of concern for Liverpool, who have already been priced out of a move for Alexander Isak by Newcastle United and overall, he is a difficult target now that the Magpies have qualified for the Champions League.

Liverpool to target Ramos

Liverpool have added a new name to their striker shortlist, as the report states they are angling for a ‘Moneyball’ move for Goncalo Ramos. The PSG attakc er who cost the French side a fee close to €65 million has not nailed down a starting spot under Luis Enrique, and despite that he has proved his worth as a top-quality option off the bench and when he is afforded a start.

Ramos has had some suitors closely looking at him ahead of the summer, with Liverpool the latest in that regard. The report states, that the €65 million ace could be made available for a similar price, as he could be seen as a value-for-money signing in this tight market for strikers.
