Arsenal present offer to sign Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal will reportedly look to sign 26-year-old Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Correio da Manha, as relayed by Sport Witness, Viktor Gyokeres is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit in the summer transfer window by signing a striker. So, the Sporting CP centre-forward has emerged as a target for the North London club.

Arsenal’s decision-makers met Gyokeres’s agent Hasan Çetinkaya when the club’s women’s team met Barcelona Femini in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final. The Premier League club offered €70 million, plus a target-based fee to Sporting CP. In addition, they presented a contract with €7 million-a-year wages and a signing bonus of €12 million.

Viktor Gyokeres has transformed into a goal machine since joining Sporting CP from Coventry City in July 2023. The Swede was already a prolific attacker during his spell with the EFL Championship outfit but has taken his game up several levels in the last two years.

The 26-year-old was exceptional in the 2024/25 season, amassing 54 goals and 13 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions. Meanwhile, Gyokeres has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe with his exploits for Sporting CP. Arsenal will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.
