Enzo Fernandez offers himself to Real Madrid
Enzo Fernandez has reportedly offered his services to Real Madrid, with Chelsea valuing the 24-year-old Argentine international at around €80 million.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid will have the opportunity to sign Enzo Fernandez in the summer transfer window. The Argentine international has offered his services to the reigning La Liga champions. Meanwhile, Chelsea will demand at least €80 million to part ways with the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner.
Enzo Fernandez and his career so far
Enzo Fernandez has come leaps and bounds since joining Chelsea from SL Benfica in January 2023. The South American midfielder rose in prominence during his spell with River Plate but spent only six months at SL Benfica. Meanwhile, his stock skyrocketed after his pivotal performances at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, prompting Chelsea to secure a big-money deal for his services.
The 24-year-old endured teething problems at Chelsea but has established himself as a pivotal figure for the West London club, becoming the vice-captain. Fernandez has been excellent in the 2024/25 season, contributing to 20 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net seven times and providing 13 assists.
Meanwhile, Fernandez’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. However, the Argentine international has picked Real Madrid as his favoured destination, offering his services to Real Madrid.
La Liga adventure beckons?
Enzo Fernandez has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a long time. So, they should ideally respond favourably to the South American midfielder’s approach. With Toni Kroos leaving a gaping hole in the midfield unit since retiring and Luka Modric in the twilight of his career, the Merengues need a top-class midfielder.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner will provide an injection of creativity to the midfield unit at Real Madrid. However, Fernandez will not come cheap, with Chelsea demanding at least €80 million to part ways with him in the summer transfer window.
Recent reports have claimed that a “big offer” can tempt Chelsea to cash in on the 24-year-old Argentine international in the summer transfer window. So, it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid will cough up €80 million to secure his services in the coming months.
