Lazio will demand €35-40 million to sell Nuno Tavares

Lazio will reportedly demand around €35-40 million to part ways with 25-year-old Portuguese full-back Nuno Tavares this summer after permanently signing him from Arsenal.

According to a report by Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, Everton and Fulham are keen on signing Nuno Tavares from Lazio in the summer transfer window. The Biancocelesti will soon seal a permanent deal worth €5 million for the Arsenal loanee. However, the Serie A outfit will likely part ways with the Portuguese international in the summer transfer window, slapping a price tag of €35-40 million on him.

Nuno Tavares and his Lazio resurgence

Nuno Tavares has resurrected his stuttering career since joining Lazio on a season-long loan deal from Arsenal last summer. The Lisbon-born full-back could not stamp his authority in the Premier League, struggling to make his mark at Arsenal while barely getting off the blocks during his temporary stint with Nottingham Forest.

However, the 25-year-old hit the ground running at SS Lazio, amassing eight assists in his first eight outings for Lazio. While fitness issues have stunted Tavares’s progress since then, he still has a decent tally of nine assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Tavares’s exploits for Lazio have not gone unnoticed, and several well-known clubs across Europe are keen on signing the Arsenal loanee in the summer transfer window. Recent reports have linked the Portuguese international with Juventus. However, Everton and Fulham will aim to beat the competition to his signature. Lazio will likely seal a permanent deal worth €5 million before looking to offload him for €35-40 million.

Premier League return on the horizon?

Everton and Fulham’s interest in Nuno Tavares is understandable. The Toffees already have a solid left-back, with Vitaliy Mykolenko making his mark during his spell at Goodison Park. However, David Moyes reportedly wants to add another left-back to his squad, making the Arsenal loanee a viable target.

Meanwhile, Antonee Robinson is a target for several Premier League bigwigs, with his exploits capturing the attention of high-profile clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United. So, Tavares is an option worth considering.

Lazio’s asking price of €35-40 million for Tavares may seem steep. However, the 25-year-old Portuguese international has shown the potential to justify that valuation if he remains fit. In addition, he may have a point to prove after failing to make his mark for Arsenal.
