Alexis Mac Allister happy at Liverpool amid Real Madrid interest
Argentine World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister is content at Liverpool amidst interest from Real Madrid.
Alexis Mac Allister has only gone from strength to strength since joining Liverpool from Brighton back in the summer of 2023. He has established himself as a key figure in the team and has played a massive part in their dominance in the Premier League this season.
The Argentine midfielder has featured in a total of 46 matches this season for Arne Slot’s team and has contributed towards 11 goals. His consistent performances in midfield and his ability to feature in a variety of roles have resulted in links with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Real Madrid’s interest in Mac Allister
While speaking about those links with Los Blancos during an interview with , the 2022 World Cup winner said: “I read the rumours and the news reaches me, but the important thing is the present. As much as the club loves me, if I play badly this weekend, they will lose interest,”
Mac Allister did acknowledge the fact that he is aware of the Spanish giants’ interest in his services. But that doesn’t seem to affect him one bit.
Meanwhile, The team in white could undergo a rebuild next season as Carlo Ancelotti could end up parting ways with the club. Toni Kroos’ departure has already had a massive impact on the way they play and with Luka Modric also in the final phase of his career, Los Blancos do need to bring in some fresh faces in midfield.
They need someone who can help control the tempo of games and Mac Allister could be a great option for them. But signing him won’t be that straightforward as he seems to be quite happy with his life at Liverpool. He still has three years left on his deal and is fully focused on doing his best for the Merseyside club.

During his conversation with TyC Sports, Mac Allister further added: “I’m fine at Liverpool and I don’t need to. So I have a lot of respect for the club and I don’t think it’s necessary to talk about other institutions.”
The 26-year-old is gearing up to celebrate his first league title with the fans at Anfield. The Argentine midfielder feels the club is more like a big family and he is certainly happy to continue doing his best for the club. Meanwhile, he is a key figure in the Reds’ long-term plans and they are unlikely to let him go unless a crazy offer arrives their way.
Following Mac Allister’s recent comments, it will be intriguing to see whether Real Madrid make a concrete move for him this summer. Should they come knocking on Merseyside’s door, the developments that follow could be equally fascinating.
