Predicted Liverpool lineup against Leicester City: Gakpo in for Diaz; Alexander-Arnold back in squad
Liverpool travel to Leicester City for their Premier League clash later today, and they will look to take another step closer to the league title with a victory away from home.
They are the favourites to win the league title this season, and they will look to extend the gap with Arsenal this week. They managed to pick up a win over West Ham United in the last outing, and they will be confident of getting a good result here as well.
Leicester City have been one of the worst teams in the division and they are completely devoted a form and confidence right now. They will struggle to contain a motivated Liverpool side here.
Liverpool have been boosted by the return of Trent Alexander-Arnold. However, he is unlikely to start here, and he could be on the bench. Other than that, Joe Gomez is the only injury for Liverpool.
“[He is] not [ready] to start but if things go well today and tomorrow, he might – might – be on the bench,” .
“But definitely not to start because he is out for five-and-a-half weeks and this is today probably his first session with the team.
“It was Wednesday I think he did parts of the team session. So he’s not able to start but hopefully he can be able to join us because for Conor [Bradley], he has been out for a long time so for him to play 90 isn’t easy as well.
“So it would be nice if Trent is with us during the weekend, yes.”
Liverpool are set to shape up in their usual 4-2-3-1 formation, with Alisson Becker in goal.
Conor Bradley and Andrew Robertson will start as the fullbacks here. They will look to contribute at both ends of the pitch. Ibrahima Konate will start in central defence alongside Virgil van Dijk.
In the midfield, Alexis Mac Allister will start in the pivot with Ryan Gravenberch. They will look to help out defensively and control the game from the middle of the park. Dominik Szoboszlai will look to link up with the attackers and create openings in the final third from the attacking midfield role.
Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo will start on the flanks. They will look to add width, pace, flair, and goals to the side.
Diogo Jota will lead the line for Liverpool.
Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Bradley, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Jota
