Jack Grealish could stay at Manchester City amid exit links
Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United are interested in signing 29-year-old English international Jack Grealish from Manchester City this summer.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United are keen on signing Jack Grealish. The English international has blown hot and cold since joining Manchester City from Aston Villa in a big-money deal in August 2021. However, there are no guarantees that he will depart from the Etihad in the summer transfer window.
Jack Grealish and his dreadful Manchester City spell
Jack Grealish has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Manchester City from Aston Villa in a big-money deal in August 2021. The Englishman was among the best players in the Premier League when he arrived at the Etihad nearly four years ago. However, he has not lived up to the billing during his spell with Manchester City.
The 29-year-old has turned out over 150 times thus far for Manchester City while managing a paltry tally of 17 goals and 23 assists. However, Grealish’s stock in the market remains high, with well-known Premier League clubs like Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.
A man in demand
Aston Villa’s interest in the English international makes sense. While Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio have been revelations in the final third for the West Midlands outfit, it is unclear if the duo will seal permanent moves in the coming months. So, Grealish has emerged as a viable target for Aston Villa.
Meanwhile, Jack Grealish has been on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar for a long time. The continued interest in the Manchester City attacker is understandable, considering Richarlison and Timo Werner will likely depart from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer transfer window.
As for Newcastle United, the Tyneside outfit did not replace Miguel Almiron in the winter transfer window. While Grealish will not be a like-for-like replacement for the Paraguayan international, he can be the ideal foil to Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak in the final third. However, the 29-year-old Englishman could remain at Manchester City beyond the summer.
While leaving Manchester City is the ideal scenario for Grealish, there are no guarantees he will depart from the Etihad in the summer transfer window. So, it will be interesting to see what the future has in store for the English international amid his links with Aston Villa, Tottenham, and Newcastle United.
