Everton, Newcastle United among six clubs chasing Jarell Quansah
Everton and Newcastle United are reportedly among six clubs that are keen on signing 22-year-old English defender Jarell Quansah from Liverpool.
According to a report by Caught Offside, Jarell Quansah is highly sought-after in the market heading into the summer transfer window. The Liverpool defender is a target for six clubs, with Everton and Newcastle United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature. Meanwhile, the Reds want around €35 million to part ways with the English defensive prospect.
Jarell Quansah and his Liverpool journey so far
Jarell Quansah has established himself as one of the most promising young defenders in the Premier League since breaking into the first-team squad at Liverpool FC. A native of Warrington, the Englishman was with Liverpool throughout his formative years and has only spent five months away from the Merseyside club due to a loan spell with Bristol Rovers.
The 22-year-old broke into the first-team squad at Liverpool FC in the early days of the 2023/24 season, and he made considerable progress in the last two years. Quansah has turned out over 50 times thus far for the Merseyside outfit while chipping in with three goals and three assists.
Meanwhile, Quansah’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Everton and Newcastle United are among the prospective suitors vying for the English defender’s signature heading into the summer transfer window. In addition, Brentford, Bournemouth, Bayer Leverkusen, and Borussia Dortmund are also keen on signing him from Liverpool.
Move across the Premier League on the cards?
Newcastle United’s interest in Jarell Quansah is understandable. The Magpies are scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window. Fabian Schar, Dan Burn, and Jamaal Lascelles are on the wrong side of 30. In addition, Sven Botman has struggled with fitness issues. So, Newcastle United can do with a central defender, with the Liverpool prospect a viable target.
As for Everton, Jarrad Branthwaite faces an uncertain future at the Merseyside club amid his links with several high-profile clubs. So, Quansah is an option worth considering for the Toffees. However, Everton and Newcastle United face stiff competition from Brentford, Bournemouth, Bayer Leverkusen, and Borussia Dortmund for the 22-year-old Englishman.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will demand around €35 million to part ways with Quansah in the summer transfer window. With the Reds holding out for a substantial offer to sell the English defensive prospect, it will be interesting to see if a summer move beckons the youngster.
