Tottenham outsiders in race to sign Tyler Dibling

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Tyler Dibling but remain outsiders in the race for the Southampton winger.

Tyler Dibling’s rise has not gone unnoticed, with several top clubs eyeing a move after Southampton’s relegation has been confirmed. Tottenham Hotspur are interested in his signature. But according to Florian Plettenberg, the North London club are outsiders in the race.

Dibling has come up the ranks at Southampton. He broke into their first team last season and featured in a total of five matches. The teenager was officially promoted to their first team last summer, and he has only gone from strength to strength since.

In his first full season with their senior side, the young winger has featured in a total of 33 matches, and he has contributed towards seven goals. The teenage breakout prodigy has been involved in 28 of their Premier League outings.

While the Saints have struggled to get the desired results, the 19-year-old’s impressive performances have been one of the positives for them. His contract at the club runs until 2027, but with Southampton’s relegation already certain, Tyler Dibling also looks set for a move away from the club.

The teenager prefers playing as a right-winger, but he can even feature as a number nine or as a number ten when needed. He is on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, and it will certainly be interesting to see who ends up winning the race for his signature.

Where will Dibling be playing next season?

The English youth international could end up moving to Germany, as Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are quite keen on his signature. Both clubs see Tyler Dibling as a great option for the long run, but Leipzig are believed to be the front-runner at this stage.

Dibling is believed to be open to a move to the Bundesliga, which is a boost for both clubs. Plettenberg believes the actual fee will be much lower than the widely reported €70–80 million. While Tottenham are interested in him, they are currently considered outsiders in the race for his signature.

Ange Postecoglou is keen on adding more firepower to his squad, with Richarlison and Timo Werner expected to part ways with the club. Dibling could be a perfect fit for their project as they have targeted young players with massive potential of late. However, they are not the front-runners for his signature, and it might have a lot to do with the total cost of the operation.
