Predicted Liverpool lineup against West Ham United: Bradley to return; Jota up front
Conor Bradley will return to the Liverpool starting lineup against West Ham United at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool were beaten by Fulham in the Premier League last weekend, and it has been a disappointing few weeks for the Premier League table-toppers. The Reds will be eager to bounce back when they welcome West Ham United to Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool do not have any new fitness issues heading into this weekend’s contest. Trent Alexander-Arnold is most notable absentee as he continues recovering from an ankle injury. Meanwhile, Joe Gomez remains on the sidelines due to his long-term hamstring complaint. Other than that, the hosts have a fully-fit squad. During his pre-match press conference, Arne Slot confirmed the return of Conor Bradley.
The Liverpool manager said, “It’s always a boost when quality players come back. Especially quality players in that position, because I think Curtis Jones is a quality player but it’s not his favourite position.
“So to have a player in his favourite position is always – not always – but might be better for the team. And Conor has done so well for us this season, just like Trent [Alexander-Arnold]. But when Trent then isn’t there, you always hope to look behind you and see that Conor is available.”
Liverpool are set to shape up in a 4-2-3-1 formation against West Ham United, with Alisson Becker taking his spot in goal. Conor Bradley and Andrew Robertson will start as the full-backs. They will look to help out at both ends of the pitch. Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk will form the central defensive partnership.
As for the midfield unit, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch will add control and composure to the side from the double pivot. Dominik Szoboszlai will look to create opportunities for his teammates in the final third with his creativity, drive and link up play.
Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo will start on the flanks, and they will look to create goalscoring opportunities and find the back of the net. Finally, Diogo Jota is likely to lead the line for Liverpool against West Ham United. So, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez will be backup options on the bench.
Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Bradley, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Jota
