Premier League trio keen on Federico Chiesa
Liverpool flop Federico Chiesa could be available for around €25-30 million amidst interest from three Premier League clubs.
Federico Chiesa seems all set for a move away from Liverpool this summer. Things haven’t worked out for him at Anfield, and parting ways with the Reds could be in the best interest of all parties involved. A return to Italy would certainly make the most sense, but according to a report from CaughtOffside, Chiesa could continue in England as three unnamed Premier League clubs are willing to bet on him.
The 27-year-old winger had made quite a name for himself with his consistent performances at Juventus. He was considered amongst the best forwards in the world, but injuries derailed his progress. Despite his struggles, Liverpool decided to bet on him and signed him last summer.
Arne Slot was keen on having him in his squad, but the transfer hasn’t really worked out. He was out injured in the initial phase of the season and hasn’t been able to break into the Dutch manager’s plans of late.
While his contract at the Merseyside club runs until the summer of 2028, the Reds don’t really consider him an important part of their plans, and they are willing to part ways with him as they have enough firepower in their attack.
Chiesa’s uncertain future
There was interest in him during the winter transfer window. Napoli wanted to sign him, but Chiesa turned it down as he wanted to try and work his way into Slot’s plans. Unfortunately, things haven’t worked out, and he will certainly assess his options this summer.
A return to Italy could certainly be his best bet to get things back as he had a lot of success at Juventus and Fiorentina. AC Milan seem to be interested in his services, but they might have to compete with English clubs.
The report suggests there are three Premier Leagues that are willing to sign him despite his struggles at Liverpool. If he is given the option to continue in England, he could choose to try and prove himself in one of the best leagues in the world.
Meanwhile, the Reds want around €25-30 million to sanction the departure of the Italian international who will still have three years left on his deal in the summer. It seems unlikely that any club would match their demands, as a result, they might have to settle for a lower fee than that.
