Liverpool establish contact over Kiliann Sildillia move
Liverpool will reportedly look to sign 22-year-old French full-back Kiliann Sildillia from Bundesliga club SC Freiburg in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Kiliann Sildillia is the subject of interest from Liverpool. The Reds are combing the market for a right-back heading into the summer transfer window as they prepare to part ways with Trent Alexander-Arnold as a free agent. So, the SC Freiburg defender has emerged as a target for the Merseyside outfit, with the two parties in contact over a possible move.
Kiliann Sildillia has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Bundesliga since joining SC Freiburg from FC Metz. While the Frenchman initially represented the club’s reserve side, he has not looked back since breaking into the first-team squad at Stade Europa-Park.
The 22-year-old has struggled with fitness issues this season, with the injuries restricting his game time to less than 1,000 minutes across 17 appearances in all competitions while chipping in with two goals. Nevertheless, the youngster’s stock is high, especially after he was part of the squad that won the silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The French full-back’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Premier League, in particular, are keen on signing him, with Liverpool among the prospective suitors vying for the SC Freiburg prospect’s signature heading into the summer transfer window.
