Chelsea keen on Rodrygo Goes
Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of Real Madrid mainstay Rodrygo Goes amidst interest from rivals Liverpool.
Chelsea could once again go big this summer and they have already started working towards potential transfers to further bolster their squad. According to a report from Fichajes, the Blues are interested in signing Rodrygo Goes, who has been a consistent performer for Real Madrid in recent years.
The Brazilian forward joined Los Blancos back in 2019 after coming up the ranks and making a name for himself at Santos. He has only gone from strength to strength since making the move to Spain as a teenager.
So far, he has featured in a total of 261 matches for the team in white and has contributed towards 116 goals. He has helped them win two Champions League titles and three La Liga titles during his time at the club.
In the ongoing campaign, he has 22 goal contributions in just under 3,000 minutes of first-team action. While he prefers playing on the left flank, he has been used as a right winger on most occasions at Madrid. Rodrygo can even feature as a number nine when needed.
His versatility, his consistent performances and massive potential have put him on the radar of quite a few clubs from across Europe. Chelsea are one of the clubs that could try to lure him away this summer.
Chelsea could try to lure Rodrygo to Stamford Bridge
The Blues have been quite impressive this season under Enzo Maresca. They are currently fourth in the league, and if they do qualify for the Champions League, the London club could make massive moves in the market to further bolster their squad.
In their bid to compete with the world’s best, they’re looking to add more firepower in attack and believe Rodrygo could provide the boost in quality they need. But the Blues won’t find it easy to sign the 24-year-old.
They will have to fork out close to €100 million and could try to tempt him with a leading role in the team. While he is an important player at Madrid, Rodrygo isn’t a guaranteed starter, which could help their cause. The Blues might face competition from rivals Liverpool, who have also been linked with the Brazilian forward.
With Mohamed Salah’s future uncertain, the Reds want to bring in a prominent goal scorer to help cope with his potential departure. Rodrygo could certainly bolster their ambitions, and the club may be willing to make a significant investment to secure his signature.
