Paixao has landed on the Napoli radar thanks to his great performances this season. His agent Edson Toninello stated that, while there haven’t been direct talks between the parties at this stage, the player would be open to the destination. He spoke to Si Gonfia La Rete.

“I haven’t had any contact with them for now. He’s very young and hard-working and has a lot to improve upon. He’s happy in Rotterdam. Feyenoord is a great club, and he has adjusted very well. Obviously, any big offer will be weighed.”

Paixao extended his contract with the Eredivisie side until 2029 pretty recently, but he might still transfer to Napoli or another elite side in the summer. Toninello was asked whether the Azzurri would be an appreciated destination.

“Sure, it is a big team, it’s in a good moment and has a lot of history.”

The winger wouldn’t come cheap due to his long-term team and numbers.

“His valuation is up to Feyenoord. He has increased his price tag a lot in recent campaigns.”

Recent reports suggested the Azzurri would have to shell out €30/35M to nab the 24-year-old. They aren’t short on cash since they didn’t reinvest the Khvicha Kvaratskhelia income and will likely sell Victor Osimhen. The speedster has registered 29 goals and 23 assists in 119 games with his current side.

They’ll have to be fast and surgical in the summer, as the rumblings about Antonio Conte are already starting since he’s getting linked to any potential opening. While the Brazilian attacker is already fairly established, the gaffer might prefer bringing in even more surefire contributors.
